The cruise ship “Titus” was built based on a replica of a Roman galley. According to legend the lake was named after General Titus Flavius Vespasianus, who was crowned around 69-79 A.D. as Emperor of the Romans. According to legend, Vespasianus camped around this very lake during a military campaign around 41 A-D.
Amazed by the beauty of the lake, he named it “Titunsee”, which is known today as Titisee.
This Roman legend was the inspiration to call the boat ‘Titus’, .
